Congressional Cemetery is a privately owned cemetery managed by the non-profit Association for the Preservation of Historic Congressional Cemetery.

There are 19 Senators and 71 Representatives interred at Congressional Cemetery and monuments to honor 120 other members of congress who died in office. 150 of the sites are marked by monuments (cenotaphs or "empty tombs") designed by Benjamin Latrobe. The remaining sites are marked by private monuments.
